Letter to Team Explaining Mental Health Illness

#1

I’m writing to apologize to the whole team for my sudden absence from work this week. I couldn’t make it to the office due to my mental health problems.

I suffer from clinical depression. Even though I’m under treatment, I missed my medicine last week. Consequently, my symptoms re-emerged and threw me into a dark and depressive state of mind. I resumed my medicine course right away, but it will take some time to start controlling my symptoms.

I have applied for leave for a couple of more days to let myself bounce back completely. I understand the difficulty the team would face due to my further absence. However, I hope you understand my situation and forgive me for the inconvenience.

I would appreciate your support and cooperation.

I am writing to explain my leave during the last couple of days. Although I’m physically well, I have been feeling mentally exhausted for some months. The stress of work, along with the pressure of short deadlines, has taken a toll on my mental health, leading to anxiety disorders. I, therefore, took leave from the office for a few days.

This has been a much-needed break. It provided me with time to focus on myself and relax. I also got to spend more time with my family, and it helped me get rid of my stress. I will now be able to return to work refreshed.

I would like to thank you all for your patience and cooperation. Your support means a lot.

As you all know, I have suffered the loss of a dear one recently. I’m still in the grieving phase and haven’t fully recovered from the shock. I have been diagnosed with post-traumatic mental health disorder by a healthcare professional. This is the reason I have been absent from work on and off.

I, therefore, request the team’s support and cooperation. I will try my best to show up to work and play my part for the team. However, on days I feel really low, I might not be able to make it to the office. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Since I am seeking medical help, I’m sure that I’ll be able to recover soon. Once my mental state is stable, I will be able to attend the office more regularly and work with focus and dedication.

Thank you for your understanding.

This is to inform the team that I will be unavailable for the next couple of weeks as I’m on sick leave. I have been suffering from mental health illnesses for quite a while. Due to this, I find it very challenging to focus on work and manage the burden.

I would request you to cover for me while I’m on leave. I will try my best to make up for my absence once I return to work.

Looking forward to your support and cooperation.

I would like to express my apologies to the team for my absence from work this week. I haven’t been able to reply to any emails or respond to work-related calls due to my mental condition.

I have been going through severe anxiety disorders. My physician has recommended a complete break from work for a while. I have attached my medical reports and the doctor’s note for verification.

I realize that my absence has been an inconvenience to the whole team. I request your patience and understanding. Your support would be highly appreciated.
